Mid Year Camp 2008

Wassup my fellow readers..
Sorry for not updating... Was actually quite busy lately with my holiday activities..haha
well...1st up...genting trip with the interactors... it was just...ok..

Then..its the big one..Mid Year Camp 08.
Was I looking forward to it?
Hmm...50-50
I was looking forward to it because i have no activities in the camp and just helped out the scouters.
The "I-wasnt-looking-forward" thought only came up after the 1st day of camp because I had to work my ass off for the juniors who know nothing but sitting around slacking...
What joy..

Well shall we start? haha

Day 1
Went and collect our lunch at 7am... then headed to school..
when i reach school...only a few juniors were there... not suprise..
bla bla bla...had some inspection...god some of their bags were damn heavy...but some were damn light...
went on the bus...
When we reach Ulu Yam... Sir Fung Chuan was kind enough to help to carry all the scouters's bag and mine up with car while all the scouters and me were left empty handed to hike up..
Why? because he wanted us to help the juniors to carry their heavy bags..
well...ANYWAY...reach our campsite in about...30 minutes...faster than i remembered..haha
set up the campsite.. the HQ and the tents...i was lucky enough to get the seniors's sleeping place since they left...

Not long after...heavy rain started pouring... god it was freaking heavy..and cold...
bla bla bla...then came the more tiring and worst part of camp...choping bamboo!!! jeng jeng...
What made it worst was...only me and kin meng was choping..why? the juniors doesnt noe how to chop bamboo....holy ****..
I almost died... after kinmeng chopped down this bamboo...it fell and landed like few cm beside me..mind u the bamboo are like...30 feet tall...and god knows how heavy..
returned to campsite...and...they were already cooking dinner.
then after dinner. Ice breaking session...I learnt more about pressure lamp...and started fire...with wet wood...crapp...
then...went and sleep at two...because AGAIN we had to help to built the kitchen for the juniors...what joy...

Day 2
Woke up at 7.15, god damnt tired..and my whole body was aching...crapp...
lead the juniors in morning exercise plus embarrased myself..great..lol
then breakfast was fine.. then morning inspection.. then the juniors did their backwoodsman...more like the scouters did for them... for those who doesnt know what is backwoodsman.. it is actually cooking raw meat, egg, potato, and alot of stuff...with firewood...
sounds easy? only when you are a pro in it.
then the juniors had their treasure hunt and kim's game... kim's game is something like a memory game...
Then i went and bathed....water...freezing...

built the black box AKA toilet...haha
dinner was fine.. then continue to build the kitchenn for the juniors...AGAIN...omgg..
somehow i was dead tired and felt sick so i went and sleep...i think it was only around 9 or 10 o'clock. i missed the juniors's survival night which i was actually looking forward to...sigh...nevermind...

Day 3
woke up at 9.30...not bad huh...haha
after breakfast Sir Kwee Kiat brought the kids to teach them how to chop bamboo...sadly they should have been taught before the 1st day so me and kinmeng wouldnt have to suffer so much...
after lunch it was their halangan komando...and then...the whole troop had to help dig mud which is around one feet deep caused by landslides.. screwed up and guess what, the main reason we were digging the mud was because Sir tuckloong's car couldnt get out...got cuts and bruises all over...headed for waterfall...
Then this funny thing happen...Me, Sir Faruq, and Sir Julian were enjoying some natural jaquzzi then suddenly "helped!!" from sir faruq, the current was too strong he was almost got washed away...so i rushed and tried to help him.. "woosh" i slipped and fell on the rock right on my ass...ouch...
after the waterfall...went back to campsite and helped cooked dinner...ate..and came the highlight of the camp...the campfire...
What made it better was...we had the 10kl troop to join us because they were actually camping just 20 metres away from us..
just like the traditional campfire...
Me and sir vincent was incharge of the fire...
80% of the plan worked...dang...it would be damn nice if the whole plan worked but heck u can't have everything in ur life right...haha
campfire till around 12...then farewell to them..
open talk was ok...
I did'nt join in the ghost story session...i was scared...haha...
had indomie for supper...nicee.... and slept at 3..

Day 4
Wake up to only find that most of the ppl's shoes are gone...
10kl " gao shi"...
nothing much...pack up...was tiring...and the juniors once again...was so slow and slacking much..
thank god sir james drove me down with his X-trail and i didnt need to hike down... phew..
after boarding the bus...didnt get the chance to sleep...the ppl were so noisy..
reach school....called mom... went home...bath eat sleep...
and went physics somemore at night..omgg...so tired...

Conclusion
basically the camp was really...Fun..and not fun at the same time...lol
Thanks to Sir Faruq for the awesome-mest food i have ever had in camp
Thanks to Kinmeng for helping out on the 1st day and the 2nd.
and lastly thanks to all the scouters who helped!!

After this camp.. I really get to know most of the scouters and some juniors ..which is a good thing...haha
