Canteen Day 2008

Canteen day was yesterday.
Hmm, I didn't really ate anything during canteen day.
Scouts was selling honey chicken, peach tea, strawberry tea, popia and tao fu fah.
honey chicken was the best. Others was not bad too.
Overall, canteen day this year was, boring i would say.
But i think scouts has made by far the most money on canteen day since the troop was established...i think. * three finger salute to those who helped during the canteen day, especially Caely, the organizer *

During the afternoon shift, we couldn't finish selling the taufufah,
So, we kinda made something like a reality show..haha
How is it played?
People AKA students will pay for two taufufahs and the scouts will race to gobble up the tasteless taufufah, loser got to do punishment. and therefore, everything sold out on that day. haha

And guess what, i finally got my lens after waiting for...erm, one week.

Mid Year Camp 2008

Wassup my fellow readers..
Sorry for not updating... Was actually quite busy lately with my holiday activities..haha
well...1st up...genting trip with the interactors... it was just...ok..

Then..its the big one..Mid Year Camp 08.
Was I looking forward to it?
Hmm...50-50
I was looking forward to it because i have no activities in the camp and just helped out the scouters.
The "I-wasnt-looking-forward" thought only came up after the 1st day of camp because I had to work my ass off for the juniors who know nothing but sitting around slacking...
What joy..

Well shall we start? haha

Day 1
Went and collect our lunch at 7am... then headed to school..
when i reach school...only a few juniors were there... not suprise..
bla bla bla...had some inspection...god some of their bags were damn heavy...but some were damn light...
went on the bus...
When we reach Ulu Yam... Sir Fung Chuan was kind enough to help to carry all the scouters's bag and mine up with car while all the scouters and me were left empty handed to hike up..
Why? because he wanted us to help the juniors to carry their heavy bags..
well...ANYWAY...reach our campsite in about...30 minutes...faster than i remembered..haha
set up the campsite.. the HQ and the tents...i was lucky enough to get the seniors's sleeping place since they left...

Not long after...heavy rain started pouring... god it was freaking heavy..and cold...
bla bla bla...then came the more tiring and worst part of camp...choping bamboo!!! jeng jeng...
What made it worst was...only me and kin meng was choping..why? the juniors doesnt noe how to chop bamboo....holy ****..
I almost died... after kinmeng chopped down this bamboo...it fell and landed like few cm beside me..mind u the bamboo are like...30 feet tall...and god knows how heavy..
returned to campsite...and...they were already cooking dinner.
then after dinner. Ice breaking session...I learnt more about pressure lamp...and started fire...with wet wood...crapp...
then...went and sleep at two...because AGAIN we had to help to built the kitchen for the juniors...what joy...

Day 2
Woke up at 7.15, god damnt tired..and my whole body was aching...crapp...
lead the juniors in morning exercise plus embarrased myself..great..lol
then breakfast was fine.. then morning inspection.. then the juniors did their backwoodsman...more like the scouters did for them... for those who doesnt know what is backwoodsman.. it is actually cooking raw meat, egg, potato, and alot of stuff...with firewood...
sounds easy? only when you are a pro in it.
then the juniors had their treasure hunt and kim's game... kim's game is something like a memory game...
Then i went and bathed....water...freezing...

built the black box AKA toilet...haha
dinner was fine.. then continue to build the kitchenn for the juniors...AGAIN...omgg..
somehow i was dead tired and felt sick so i went and sleep...i think it was only around 9 or 10 o'clock. i missed the juniors's survival night which i was actually looking forward to...sigh...nevermind...

Day 3
woke up at 9.30...not bad huh...haha
after breakfast Sir Kwee Kiat brought the kids to teach them how to chop bamboo...sadly they should have been taught before the 1st day so me and kinmeng wouldnt have to suffer so much...
after lunch it was their halangan komando...and then...the whole troop had to help dig mud which is around one feet deep caused by landslides.. screwed up and guess what, the main reason we were digging the mud was because Sir tuckloong's car couldnt get out...got cuts and bruises all over...headed for waterfall...
Then this funny thing happen...Me, Sir Faruq, and Sir Julian were enjoying some natural jaquzzi then suddenly "helped!!" from sir faruq, the current was too strong he was almost got washed away...so i rushed and tried to help him.. "woosh" i slipped and fell on the rock right on my ass...ouch...
after the waterfall...went back to campsite and helped cooked dinner...ate..and came the highlight of the camp...the campfire...
What made it better was...we had the 10kl troop to join us because they were actually camping just 20 metres away from us..
just like the traditional campfire...
Me and sir vincent was incharge of the fire...
80% of the plan worked...dang...it would be damn nice if the whole plan worked but heck u can't have everything in ur life right...haha
campfire till around 12...then farewell to them..
open talk was ok...
I did'nt join in the ghost story session...i was scared...haha...
had indomie for supper...nicee.... and slept at 3..

Day 4
Wake up to only find that most of the ppl's shoes are gone...
10kl " gao shi"...
nothing much...pack up...was tiring...and the juniors once again...was so slow and slacking much..
thank god sir james drove me down with his X-trail and i didnt need to hike down... phew..
after boarding the bus...didnt get the chance to sleep...the ppl were so noisy..
reach school....called mom... went home...bath eat sleep...
and went physics somemore at night..omgg...so tired...

Conclusion
basically the camp was really...Fun..and not fun at the same time...lol
Thanks to Sir Faruq for the awesome-mest food i have ever had in camp
Thanks to Kinmeng for helping out on the 1st day and the 2nd.
and lastly thanks to all the scouters who helped!!

After this camp.. I really get to know most of the scouters and some juniors ..which is a good thing...haha

well thats all on the camp...sorry no pictures...YET....wait till i get the photos from yong ming's camera...but most of them are just camwhore pictures...hahah ><
if u find the above post boring...im so sryy... my blogging skills are not prefected yet...hahah

alright...thats all...chiaoz.. will update more about camp if i missed out anything.

Sheeps and Kiwi birds. -Part 2-

Week 2 in New Zealand was actually quite boring...
My main activities was stay home and go online..and "tried" to study...didn't work..
Haha.. Well went around to look for m school and checked out some houses.
Oh and during our time in the city we rented some shitty Toyota Estima which is freaking shitty.
Well...the most interesting part when we were in Auckland was basically...watching ironman!!
Haha.. damn expensive to watch movies there compare to here.
15NZD for adults and blockbuster movie. And when i went to watch Ironman, it just came out the 1st day. the cinema wasn't even 2/3 full...whats wrong with them weih...haha

nothing much happen..Oh oh when during my flight back to KL. I watched 5 movies. nyek nyek

Sheeps and Kiwi birds. -Part 1-

Hey Everyone!
As you guys know, for the past two weeks I wasn't around.
I was actually in New Zealand, enjoying myself while you guys suffer the upcoming exam tension.
Well, I was too..just maybe not that serious.

So, why did I went to New Zealand you may ask.
The Few Reasons are
1. Holiday, DUH~!
2. To visit my brother who have been studying there for four months.
3. To look for my school, and hell yes I'm ditching Malaysia.
4. To look for a house/apartment/place to stay while I'm there.

Well here's a brief summary on my trip to NZ. And then I'm gonna let the pictures do the talking^^

On 22nd April, 9.00Pm, Me and my family boarded a flight to NZ. Well, practically the flight was
okay. Quite good i would say, each passenger had a personal screen built-in in front of them. and they have remotes. The remotes are damn cool. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of it. So, By the way. They have games and songs and movies and tv series all already programmed in the...erm...TV. There were like 20-30 movies in total, quite a number of tv-series. and some games to occupy the kids eg. my younger bro. In the flight I watch 2 movies...well actually one and a half. which is Golden compass and Enchanted (halfway)
You know what? this is boring. Let's skip the whole flight thing.

Around 10 hours later, we finally departed at Auckland International Airport.
On the way out, stopped by at the duty-free liquor shop to get a few bottle of wines.

Next when we walk out from the departure hall, we were greeted by none other than Kevin(in case you don't know who he is, he is my brother). next we took a bus to the "Maui showroom" i would say, To pick up our "house" for the next four days.

Then, after picking it up, we drove it to my bro's homestay which is like...30-45 minutes drive from the pick-up point.Met with my bro's homestay owner...bla bla bla. bla bla bla.
Then At night we head to my dad's friends house. Damn nice and big house. stayed there over night. Didn't want to sleep in the campervan parked outside on a slope. And yes her house is on a slope.

Next morning we headed down south to Rotorua after breakfast.
the journey took us around 4-5 hours.
When we reach Rotorua it was already dark..but it was just 6 o'clock.
then quickly we looked for a campsite. When I say campsite I mean some campsite for campervan's where you get a parking spot with a 240v plug point or some shit like that and water supply.

then Next Morning, woke up, breakfast, then head straight out to the famous Gondola(cable car) and Luge(view pictures below for more info).
Had alot alot alot of fun there...then we just went around the place, check out the situation there because we will be staying there for another 3 days.

Then at the evening we tried to look for another better and cheaper campsite. Found one, much cheaper, much nicer and looks more like a campsite. not like the previous one which looks like some Jusco supermarket outdoor carpark with grass. And this campsite provide free canoe service!!

Next morning, Me, Vincent, Kevin and Dad went for some boat rowing in the river.Quite fun.
Came back and feed the ducks with bread. There was like 20-30 ducks.

After that, drove to the some mud pool village, nothing much there, just follow the guided tour to listen to their history, quite boring, but cool to see hot water splashing out from between the rocks for like few meters high.
then wanted to go for the ATV but too bad they are already closed and the next day is fully booked. Wanted to try zorb but quite expensive so didn't at the end. In case you are wondering what is zorb and ATV, the pictures will explain later.
After dinner, went to the Kiwi enclosure.
What is Kiwi enclosure?
Well it is actually like a mini zoo which has a lot of birds, trouts, some pigs and sheeps.
because Kiwi birds only come out when it is dark to look for food. So we went at the night just the see the kiwi birds.. well the tickets allow us to enter unlimited times after 24 hours of the time of purchasing anyway. and let me just tell u this...the kiwi birds are super duper cute!!...haha
didn't take picture because it was dark, raining and we are not advisable to use flash...

Then went back to the same campsite as the previous day.bath and sleep.
Next day, went to the kiwi enclosure again to check out the other animals like the birds and the trouts (some kind of fish).
After that went inside the nocturnal room. A place to keep the kiwis in the morning. They made the room look like it is at night. Its some room with dimmed light and its very dark in there.

Then, had burger king and headed back to Auckland.
Took us around 5-6 hours because it was quite jam.
then Went to our temporary house for the next one week, my dad's friends house.
and In case you are wondering why does my dad have so many friends in NZ, its because he stayed in NZ for around 10 years last time, both study and work. and therefore me and my older bro was born there.

then a few families, all friends gathered at my dad's friends house to have dinner and chit chat, catch up on stuff...bla bla bla
well, thats it for part one which is my 1st week of my trip in NZ.. haha
Will be continued soon.

Now, its time for pictures.
Note : some pictures are taken from the internet because most of the time it was raining so i couldnt take out my camera. and yes my camera is my life. part of it maybe...haha, ENJOY!
Luge, Dad and Vincent.

Bro giving lectures to the ducks. I mean feeding...haha

some bird we saw in the bird park called morepork.
Not trying to be racist or anything here...but hell I was laughing my ass off when i saw this.

Now this is an ATV=All Terrain Vehicle

Zorb. It is basically someone "trapped" inside a giant inflated ball who paid 50NZD to get rolled down a 200m hill...fun eih..hehe
Our moving house for 5 days, AKA campervan,RV,caravan.
From right : Mom, Dad, Kevin, Grandma, and Vincent. I was taking the photo so I wasn't in,
sorry^^

this is just like,1/3 of the showroom, imagine how many campervans they have.
In the campervan.
The whole family having breakfast, taken by Mr. tripod..haha

Dad doing the job of honour. Dumping the 'gold'.
luge, starting point at the top of the hill.

Well that should be all for now. It's already one am.
Part two will be continued most probably on Friday(16/5) we finishes exam.
So sorry if u think this post is boring, still a noob in this. Pls leave your comments in the chatbox.
And this is just a brief summary. Anything can ask me face to face^^

thank you very much. Signing out.
